The Foundry

Association: The
mission of Surface Design Association is to increase awareness,

Guilds:
Southern Highland Craft Guild: The Guild represents over 900
craftspeople in 293 counties of 9 southeastern states. It has
partnered with the National Park Service for more than fifty years and
operates the Blue Ridge Parkway's Folk Art Center.
Association of Michigan Basketmakers: The AMB was founded in 1981
to develop and perpetuate the art of basketry. AMB members represent a
diverse range of experiences and skills. They create basketry from a
wide variety of materials including reed, barks, wood splints, cane,
waxed linen, beads, and gathered natural materials.

Australian Forum for Textile Arts, Ltd (TAFTA):
Membership in TAFTA entitles you to a discounted rate for attending FORUM conferences, the supplementary Newsletter with each
TEXTILE Fibre Forum magazine mailing, access to advice and assistance and the right to hire slide kits and videos. TEXTILE Fibre Forum is sold in selected news agencies in most states of Australia.
Lark Books:
We make
books that are beautiful, informative, and fun - books about crafts,
home decorating, woodworking, cooking, and outdoor living, along
with a few oddball titles that don't fit anywhere at all. We also do
craft books for creative kids.
Schools of Arts and
Crafts:
Appalachian Center for Craft: A satellite campus of Tennessee Tech
University (TTU), students explore diverse options in professional
craft studies. The Craft Center promotes excellence in American craft
by teaching tradition and innovation in technique, concept and design.
Arrowmont School of
Arts and Crafts: A
nationally renowned center of contemporary arts and crafts education.
Workshops are offered for one and two weeks in the spring and summer,
and one-week and weekends in the fall.
John C. Campbell
Folk School:
The John C. Campbell
Folk School offers a unique combination of arts and crafts classes &
instruction, rich history, beautiful mountain surroundings, and an
atmosphere of living and learning together.
Penland School of Crafts:
A national center for craft education dedicated to helping people live creative lives. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Penland offers one-, two-, and eight-week workshops.

Wood Engravers Network:
Since 1994, a group of printmakers, especially interested in wood engraving, have gathered and formed an organization called the Wood Engravers' Network. The group pursues communication, encouragement, and education in this historic, yet contemporary relief medium.
